2014 Radian Vineyard Pinot Noir
Our rows of clone 115 (rootstock 101-14) in this great vineyard are about 1,000 ft above Santa Rosa road on a very steep north facing hillside in the famous Pinot Bowl. The clay loam is full of diatomaceous earth, which also drives the low vigor and a small crop. The resulting wines are intense, deep and complex with a more pronounced tannin structure. The fruit was gently destemmed then cold soaked for 4 days and fermented with gentle punch-downs. Aged in tight-grained French oak barrels with 35% new for 22 months.
