2013 Watch Hill Vineyard Syrah EBA

Our Watch Hill Syrah EBA (Extended Barrel Aged) is all clone 383 and we have sourced Syrah from this vineyard since 2006. Located in the cool climate area of Alisos Canyon Road, these vines have consistently delivered for us.  We chose to co-ferment Viognier at 3% for additional nuisance in the style of Côte-Rôtie. The wine was gently destemmed then cold soaked for 4 days and fermented with gentle punch-downs. Aged in all tight grained French oak barrels with 40% new for an extra year for a total of 30 months.
