2014 Zotovich Vineyard Syrah

This is our first Zotovich Syrah, many of you enjoy our Pinot Noir from the same vineyard. The site on Hwy 246 near Spear Vineyard is known for its deep sandy soils. SRH Syrah is quite rare but we see more coming because the cold climate creates a unique Syrah. It is more restrained in the fruit side and the acids help integrate all the various spice flavors that can be found.  The fruit was gently destemmed then cold soaked for 4 days and fermented with gentle punch-downs. Aged in all tight-grained French oak barrels with 35% new for 18 months.
